About Whispering Eye Games
Whispering Eye Games is a game developer focused primarily on spicy adult content. Run by a solo developer (Badger), Whispering Eye Games is currently working on it’s first adult visual novel, The Home of Pleasure.
Launching in late 2024, Whispering Eye Games creates exciting character-driven stories full of emotional depth and realism. The aim is to produce adult games that cater to a mature audience while delving into the psychological and philosophical aspects of such transgressive storytelling.
Being a creator of adult games comes with it’s own moral obligations. While many of the topics covered are mature, it’s crucial to encourage sex positivity and reinforce the importance of consent in everything published. Making games that encourage and highlight healthy relationship dynamics is just as important as making games that are fun to play. It’s vital to constantly reinforce positivity through the outcomes and actions of characters involved in sexual content, even if it is fictional.
About this Website
The goals of this website are multifaceted. Firstly, it offers somewhere to showcase Whispering Eye Games that isn’t beholden to the whims of corporations. Secondly, I strongly believe that knowledge should be shared and not hoarded, so this website also allows me to share what I know about making adult visual novels with those hoping to learn.
About Badger
I’m a solo game developer who goes by the alias Badger. I’ve always had a love for stories and storytelling, so after playing multiple AVNs of varying quality I decided to try my hand at creating one. I immediately fell in love with the process and now I’m working on The Home of Pleasure full time.
I have a background in editing and writing, although I haven’t been in that line of work for a few years now. I’ve edited a multitude of content, from fiction to nonfiction, and I’ve had my own fiction and nonfiction published. I also have a master’s degree in creative writing and I use that knowledge to create memorable branching narratives.
The Home of Pleasure is my first foray into erotic literature and game writing so even though I have a firm grasp on the art of creative writing, I’ve had to learn what works and what doesn’t in this particular genre. However, my knowledge of digital art, coding, and game development was extremely limited when I started this project. Everything I know, I’ve had to learn how to do, which means my knowledge of these topics is intrinsically linked to creating adult visual novels.
This is largely why I wanted to build this website. Learning how to create an adult visual novel is challenging as you have to scour the internet to find resources on how to do the specific thing you want to do, and then when you move onto the next task, your search starts all over again. It’s not always possible to find guides on what you’re trying to do so you simply have to figure it out by yourself. But by having a website dedicated to the art of developing AVNs, I hope to make the learning curve a little easier for everyone else that is trying to learn the myriad of skills required for adult game development.
